First off, Ed was great and knowledgeable about his product answering all the questions I had before purchasing. The Beson Rod Wrangler Premium has been a solid upgrade for my gear. It’s a size small and fits perfectly in the bed of my Chevrolet Colorado. With plenty of adjustment I’m able to keep my cooler and gear box in the bed with plenty of room left.

I absolutely love my Rod Wrangler Premium Large. This was the missing piece of the puzzle for transporting my rods safely and efficiently. When I tow my boat to fishing locations—from the Florida Keys to Venice, Louisiana, and everywhere in between—this holder carries 18 rods with ease.

My Beson Rod Wrangler came in last week and the goal was to get it setup this weekend. Love it!

Easy setup to get it in my truck bed and secured. Easy.

Then I figured why not use it to store my rods and reels when I am home? Worked out perfectly! I did add an extra two braces to keep it from bowing and now all of my offshore rods are off the deck and safely out of the way.

FAQs

The premium model has several additional features which help with transporting rods in the truck bed:

  • A set of adjustable security arms which can be extended and latched onto your truck bed anchor points and prevent the system from moving while transporting. 
  • A stainless steel bar mounted to the bottom of the baseplate to add rigidity - this also helps when transporting rods and prevents flexing when carrying larger loads.
  • Large and Medium Premium Models have larger, more robust rubber feet 

The angle of each rod holder can be adjusted to wherever the user would like using the pin/rail system. This allows the user to lower the rod tips to any angle they choose. Most public roads provide enough clearance for the transport of most fishing rods in the upright position, however please be aware of your rod tip height at all times.

The rods are very secure inside the rod holders and typically do not need any sort of extra security while under transport. If you are traveling with the rod holders below 45 degree angles, or if you would just like extra security, we recommend using the adjustable rod leash straps available from Beson Fishing. Each rod holder has two hooks built into the cylinder which can be used to strap and secure the reels to the system.

Every Premium Rod Wrangler comes with adjustable securing arms that connect to the anchor points in the bed of the truck. These are constructed of 1/8” thick 6061 aluminum tubing and are capable of supporting loads MUCH larger than fishing rods and reels. Every model also comes with large, anti-skid rubber feet to prevent sliding, even in wet conditions.
