FAQ's

Q) I am concerned with transporting rods with the tips raised into the air because of low hanging trees and other objects that might hit them.

A) The angle of each rod holder can be adjusted to wherever the user would like using the pin/rail system. This allows the user to lower the rod tips to any angle they choose. Most public roads provide enough clearance for the transport of most fishing rods in the upright position, however please be aware of your rod tip height at all times.

Q) What is keeping the rods from falling out of the system?

A) The rods are very secure inside the rod holders and typically do not need any sort of extra security while under transport. If you are traveling with the rod holders below 45 degree angles, or if you would just like extra security, we recommend using the adjustable rod leash straps available from Beson Fishing. Each rod holder has two hooks built into the cylinder which can be used to strap and secure the reels to the system.

Q) What is preventing the system from sliding and moving in the bed of the truck?

A) Every Premium Rod Wrangler comes with adjustable securing arms that connect to the anchor points in the bed of the truck. These are constructed of 1/8” thick stainless steel square tubing and are capable of supporting loads MUCH larger than fishing rods and reels. Every model also comes with anti-skid rubber feet to prevent sliding, even in wet conditions.

Q) What materials are used to make the Rod Wrangler?

A) Each Rod Wrangler is constructed of marine grade materials and is made in the USA. The baseplate is constructed of marine board (UV resistant HDPE) and the rails, pivot arms, and rod holders are constructed of polypropylene with additives to significantly improve strength and UV resistance. All fasteners, pins, and adjustable security arms are constructed of corrosion resistant stainless steel.

Q) I am concerned with dirt and debris getting into my reels while transporting.

A) Each rod holder has drainage holes in the bottom which allow the user to hose/ wash down all your rods and reels while inside the system. This should help get rid of any debris you picked up while fishing or transporting. We also recommend using a reel cover while under transport to assist with preventing dirt from entering the reel.

Q) I am concerned with theft in my area. Is there a way to lock my rods and reels into the system?

A) We partner with DocksLocks for fishing rod security. Their security solutions can be purchased on our site under the "Fishing Rod Security" page.

Q) Will the Rod Wrangler fit in my vehicle?

A) Please refer to the product pages for the dimensions of each Rod Wrangler to check the fitment for your vehicle. There is also a list of specific truck model fitments on each page. For van and SUV fitments, please refer to the width of the specific Rod Wrangler model listed in the dimensions.

Q) How does the rack secure to the truck to transport rods?

A) The Premium Rod Wrangler model secures to the truck bed anchor points utilizing the stainless-steel adjustable arms. The arms are adjustable in three planes (vertical, horizontal, and telescoping) and can attach to virtually any truck bed. The U-connection on the end of the arm slips over the anchoring point and snap pins are placed to secure the arm to the anchor. When transport is complete the arms can be folded back into the system to reduce the footprint for rod storage.
